Alright jump all over me if you want, I've been looking at multi carbs, (2 and 3) going in a 48 3600, with a 54 235 crate motor from the day, I'm going to have to look at issue with back carb. and clearance, The Offey. three carb manifold for the 216 has the right pattern and these carbs will bolt right up - Weber 34 ICH, don't know on linkage. You can get these brand new for around $160.00 ea. I'm got at carbs so adjusting is work but no problem. Anybody looked at this or is this new?
Eye candy- - - - -won't help performance at all, probably worse anywhere except wide open throttle. A stovebolt cylinder head is the choke point, so nothing that's done to the intake or exhaust system will solve the lousy breathing of a 1920's design glorified farm tractor cylinder head. It will make the mouth breathers at the car shows marvel, however. Jerry

If you are going to go multiple, 3 (assuming you pick the proper 3) will be better than any 2.
Not a big fan of Webers. About 20 years ago, when we sorta sponsored a dirt racer, I spent about $1500. proving I couldn't make the Weber 2-barrel all of the experts claimed was THE HOT CARB to perform as well as an old Ford Autolite 2-barrel that I rebuilt. Having very little ego, and not a lot of Weber experience, I had some of the Weber experts play with it. Reassuring to find out THEY couldn't make it run as well as the Autolite either!
But Jerry is probably correct about eye candy.
As far as the carbs being cheap, here is a very well-known economist's comments:

P.T. Barnum expressed the same sentiments- - - -a lot less eloquently, but just as truthfully! Jerry
