Does anyone happen to know, was there ever an 'inner' trim ring around the face of the speedometer to cover the color of the housing? You can see the (gray) housing color around the perimeter of my speedometer, wherein the other gauge cluster has the trim ring that covers the housing.
Gonna take it back out and paint it the same color as the dash, just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing a piece. And yeh, I know the speedo needle is orange and the rest are white, but that's how she came to me and that's how she's stayin
Mine looks just like your’s so I think they came that way.
By the way, it would be easy to paint your speedometer needle. Take two pieces of 11x8-1/2” paper, cut a slit from one side to the center on both pieces, then slide the paper in under the needle from opposite sides so the slit on one paper is covered by the solid piece of the other. That is, unless you really love that color and that’s fine too!
You are missing a part though. The two pieces of chrome on the hub of the needle.
