Ok 49 GMC with a 270cid. Fenton headers just came in upon trial fit seems like the throttle linkage will need to be moved. Dose any body have any advice or experience with this issue.

You may have to go to a cable. Lokar makes them in all configurations and lengths. I'm cheap so I use a Ford cable with the built in return spring plus it uses a round hole in the firewall vs the square hole for a GM.

Evan;

What Ford cable do you use? It's easier to drill a round hole than a square one.

Here one is waiting to be used. When I go junkyard scrounging I just look under hoods till I see what I want but I think(?) they were used from the late 80's through mid 90's on many Ford models. The firewall end actually has two screw holes to hold cable and the built on return spring eliminates bracket making. 2nd pic is one used in an AD to S10 frame swap. Cable in 11:00 o-clock position by brake booster.

Note return spring needs no bracket

Thank you for the input I think an aftermarket pedal and cable assembly will have to work.
