I'm looking for a park brake assembly that went on the back of the TH 400 in the Chevrolet P30 step vans. It's going onto a Gear Vendors overdrive that will bolt to my SM 420 transmission.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get one? I'm getting desperate as it's holding up my project... | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 28,674 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 28,674 | Lots of motorhomes had that setup. The one I owned didn't have the regular parking pawl inside the transmission to lock the driveshaft. It had a big drum brake on the back of the transmission, applied by a heavy spring. An electric motor with a worm gear drive retracted the spring when the transmission was moved into gear. Jerry
