Hey guys, searched for about an hour with no luck.

I have a set of '53 doors (with vent windows) that I'd like to use the earlier, full glass in. (vent delete).
I thought it would be a straightforward swap, but it looks like the crank mechanism may be in the way.

Can anyone give me some info on this swap? I swear I read it could be done (when I wan't at that point), but now That I need the info, I can't find it.

In this case, I removed a good portion of the skin, to get out a large, poorly repaired dent (about 1/2" of bondo in 1 spot). I figured I can do the swap, with great access, so I can understand how to do it on the other door.

Thanks, I appreciate the help.
Rick

I realized I didn't give much of a description of the project.
It's a '49 4400 that I chopped 3"
It's sitting on a '56 1/2 ton frame that has been heavily modified.

The original doors were in excellent condition, & I didn't want to cut up such nice originals, so I sold them to a kid working on his own local project, & used the doors from my '53. The drivers door had been smashed in & poorly repaired.

Wow, you don't have much door left there. Looks like the top is gone, too.
I too thought the wing windows could be removed, but haven't investigated, because I plan on keeping mine.
It looks like 47-50 window regulators are different than 51 and later, looking on Jim Carter's website. I don't know if the earlier regulators (either are available as repops) will fit in later doors though.
[on edit] You were posting about the chop before I finished. That would explain the top of the door cut.

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.
