I picked up seatbelts from LMC truck today and am going to install on my 49 that I just bought. Anyone have recommendations on how they install . Just bolt through the cab?

Are you doing 2 or 3 point seatbelts?

I have 2 point on my '50 3100. Bolted the straps to the seat support fram, down in back. Very simple.

I put a 2" piece of angle iron across the bottom of the cab for my seatbelt install (39 chevy pickup).

Another quality post.

I put 3 2-point sets in my 1950 3100
Do not forget steel plates underneath. Otherwise God forbid you get into an accident the seatbelts could just rip though the floor .
I'll try and find a picture.

This is where passenger seatbelt meets middle seatbelt steel support under cab.

I did basically the same with mine. For the outer belts, I followed Deve’s installation but bolted the L bracket thru the floor instead of welding it. That is shown in the forth picture without the retractor (I installed 3 point belts, but the attachment points are the same). I used a 1-1/2” x 4” x 1/4” plate, which slid nicely under the cab attachment bracket to bolt the L bracket into.

The issue I ran into was routing the center belts thru the seat cushion frame. The belts would rub on the sharp edge of the seat frame. I remedied the issue by cutting slots for the belts to run thru. Instead of cutting rectangle slots, I cut slits that looked like a wide H with a cutoff wheel on a grinder and a Dremel with a cutoff wheel for the side cuts, and folded them over so they didn’t leave a sharp edge.

Phak1,

I believe when I did mine there were no sharp edges. I just put thick sticky padding where the seatbelt touched the frame through to cushion.
But they look the same.
Better than nothing at all.
