Both are flatbeds. Same color. Same Price
Which would you pick? I prefer the 350? | | | | Joined: Jul 2019 Posts: 32 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2019 Posts: 32 | | | | | Joined: Nov 2019 Posts: 18 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2019 Posts: 18 | Same Cabs, photos linked. The one with red wheels has rust on fenders, grill, and under the doors but it has a 350. Bodywork and welding takes real skill plus paint is expensive too. A 350 with a TH400 is easy to find on Craiglist or elsewhere and an easy swap. My vote is for less rust. Also you can sell the original drivetrain to recoup some cost. All just my opinion! | | | | Joined: May 2017 Posts: 330 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: May 2017 Posts: 330 | I would have to agree with the no rust option, I am no body man but an engine swap is easy for me. It's your truck so you get to decide. If you do decide on the swap route, fire the 6 cylinder and sell it from the truck, that will be much easier than pulling it and saying "it should run..." while it lays under a tarp.

Probably has 18" wheels, maybe 16". The GVW is less than 10,000. The 2-ton, probably a 6100 model (not C60) is 14,000 - 16,000, and has 20" wheels with a different bolt pattern. You should compare the information on the identification plates of each truck. And decide what you want/need the truck to do.

Thanks for the info, the 3800 with the red wheels are 19.5” with 10 year old tires. Both will have about 1.5 tons on the flatbed for promotional use. | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 Crusing in the Passing Lane | Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | The 6100 wheels are 5/10 on 7.25, can fit modern 19.5 or mid '50's 22.5 wheels.

Check the wheels, they might be 22.5" tubeless which is better than the 20" tube type. Also, check the engine...it should be a 261. The 235 was not factory installed in the 6000 series trucks. Make sure you look both of the trucks over very carefully, they have both been repainted and that can hide lots of bad stuff. The TF trucks love to rust above the windshield (inside and out), front and rear cab corners, door bottoms and the cowl air plenums (stick your head in the wheel opening and look back towards the door). It’s on 19.5s and the tires are also from 2010. The seller tried to claim “new tires” lol. I also have a 1953 Dodge B series dually. 89 Humvee 06 C6 and 80 Z28 an 08 Tahoe hybrid, I think the 6100 would fit in, id like a 454 in it or a LQ4. Duramax is too much work to swap.
