I'm working on my Grandpa's 1949 3100 and need to replace a spring on the original Carter YF carb. It's some kind of return spring toward the top of the bowl that affects the choke. We were having problems with the truck being unable to hold an idle and identified this spring as the culprit. However, I've been looking at all the online vendors and cannot seem to find a replacement spring. Attached is the photo of the spring I'm referring to.
The 1949 would have had a Carter type W-1 as original. The Carter YF is a replacement.
Carter used a number of different springs. You will need the Carter identification number of the carburetor in order to acquire the correct spring.

Go to the Parts Wanted forum and request the spring. Surely there are folks who have a bad Carter with a good spring.
