Anyone ever thought about putting a thrust washer/spacer on both sides of the input shaft pocket rollers?

It seems weird that there's a thrust spacer on one side of the rollers, but nothing down in the pocket?
There's ~1/8" gap inside the pocket bearing surface allowing rollers to roll deeper than necessary in the pocket. Is something supposed to go back there? Am i missing something?

This picture shows rollers pushed all the way down in the pocket leaving ~1/8 of the bearing surface unused, while the deeper end of the rollers ride unsupported:

However, I cannot find any reference to a spacer that would go in the pocket.
Only a spacer for the other side... #52 in this picture

The only thing you will find in that void is the spring that retains the needle bearings in position while you are assembling the clutch gear into the main shaft on assembly.
