1950 Chevy 3100 stock. Has anyone cut the "Flexible Fuel Line" that is connected to the fuel tank petcock and put an In-Line filter there? Leaving both ends of the flexible hose still attached. My truck has the Solid fuel lines from the "flexible" fuel line along frame to the AC fuel pump. Then it's a solid fuel line to the carburetor (Stock I believe). Which is how I would like to keep it. The Dual AC fuel/Vaccum pump has a small "filter" screen but I have now found "rust" sediment in my Carter carburetor. (Micro crap? left over from cleaning out the tank last year). Thank you in advance! Todd ***Update I removed the Flex Line, (2 years old) seems in good condition once I cut it open. I will try this in-line see thru to see how much "sediment " gets caught in it. This all began after having carburetor problems on and off (was not constant). Thought too much PSI from fuel pump, But it tested at 3.5 PSI. Carburetor had sediment at bottom when i pulled. I can imagine some making needle stick open then pass through.
I had an issue with reproduction flex line. The gas around here dissolves the rubber! I replaced it with to pieces of modern fuel injection hose, with the filter in the middle.

52Carl, Did you buy the fittings and connect the fuel injection hose to fuel valve and fuel line to pump? Sounds like a great idea being this Gasoline is terrible. Also any suggestions on a fuel filter make/model? I was told to avoid the cheap see-thru ones?
I added a see thru before I was schooled about the downfalls, and as you can see it is loaded with rust and needs to be changed. Here is a link that I was given for a model that is intended for that purpose (inlet side of the pump). https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g1507
I haven’t had any issues with the gas eating the hose as I use nothing but non ethanol gas which fortunately is abundant around here.

What's the problem with see thru filters? First I've seen anything on them.I have the set up like Phil above for years, change on a regular basis, with no trouble.

I use the old timey style metal-bodied one with the glass bowl. I upgraded to the in-the-tank style fuel pickup incorporated with the sending unit at the top of the tank for a '55.2 and later truck. It comes with a filter sock on it, thus it won't clog up as easily as the original pipe on the bottom of the tank on the original design.
