I wish I would have known sooner. On my 49 we removed the hood 2 years ago to install the new seal. Today, on the 51 5 window, we removed the front and rear hood bolts and left the bolts with the spring in place. the hood slid forward, with moving blankets on both fenders.Then we could remove the clutch head screws from the original seal and install the new seal--Hope this helps someone--Bill

BTW, great looking trucks and I want to relocate to NM. Man things survive out there. Its got to be good on the ones overall health.
So the job required a few extra hands w/o any paint or body issues...GREAT!
