I just bought a crankshaft grinder from a machinery vendor in Lubbock, so I'll be headed that way in a couple of weeks to pick it up and haul it back to Tennessee. A side trip to Trenton is definitely in the works to visit Coilover's shop, and if anyone else along the way is up for a meet and greet I'd love to put names to faces and collect a few pictures of the guys I've been communicating with for a long time. No definite schedule yet, but I'd like to get this trip done before the snow flies!

Several years ago you sold me a transmission, then met my daughter who was visiting in Tennessee at the time and she hauled the trans back here to Texas for me. If IH-20 or IH-30 are in your planned route to head back east, it would be a pleasure to meet and thank you in person. The Interstate route would also take you east toward drdoug’s place in Prosper. Hope you have a nice trip, good weather and lots of chances to meet your fellow bolters.

I'd love to spend some time there and see some of the sights I didn't get a chance to back then! I'm sure there are more appealing places to be than Lackland Air Force Base, in a basic training barracks!
My trip is on hold for a while- - - -I've spent the past week nursing a swollen hand that's probably a badly infected result of catching a sliver of hot steel off my lathe in the second knuckle of my middle finger. Now most of my fingers resemble link sausages, and holding a pen or a coffee cup is a lost cause! The antibiotics my family practitioner prescribed last week aren't helping much, so I've got an appointment with an orthopedic hand specialist coming up in a couple of days. Hope he doesn't have to do any slicing and dicing!

Maybe I'll have a fist instead of a "paw" after that! Right now, none of the fingers will flex much at all, and bending the middle one even a little bit puts me into orbit!

The guys down in Florida who dispatch my inspection assignments are very supportive and understanding, but having to rearrange other inspectors' territories to cover mine puts a kink in their business, also. Maybe I can get back on the road pretty soon!

There are a few Houston bolters around, maybe we can get a group together. My son did a summer engineering intern with Trane up in Clarksville and loved it. He is sold on the smoky mountains. My father in law used to say the Good lord ran out of landscaping budget when he got to Texas. Let us know if coming this way.
