'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires. '47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle. '54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed. '55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

| | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,212 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,212 | You call your truck a "Step Van", but Step Vans made by Chevrolet didn't come with updraft carburators, they were all down draft. The Forward Control chassis did have the updraft and they were sold to outside companies like Boyer and Grumman who made bread/milk trucks out of them. Step Vans are models 3445, 3545 & 3745 Forward Controls are models 3442, 3542, 3742, 6242 & 6642. To the best of my knowledge they all got the 235 Thriftmaster Special engine, so no 261's during the TF years got the updraft carburators. So, what model is your truck?
