My Air Force son who is stationed in minot nd just sent me these photos and asked me if I knew what this trans is. I don’t but have no intention of telling him that, lol. I thought I would ask here and then tell him what it is, lol. Anyone have any thoughts?

Looks like a muncie hd 3sp., Possibly out of a corvette, notice the speedometer gear on the passenger side of the tailshaft.

The seven bolts on the shift cover tells that it is a newer 3 speed, with the synchronized first gear
