I bought a corvette rear end to resale at a swap meet and need to find more info on it.[gear ratio ,year etc...] It is supposed to be a 78 . Any ideas on where to get this info? Where are the #'s located on the housing?

Im no Corvette expert, but I found out about mine doing a search for C4 corvette info. I believe yours is a C3 (covette 3rd generation) and was used until 1983 (yes, there were about 17 1983 Vettes made, don't everyone yell at me! )
Do a google search C3 Corvette specs, go from there!

The handful of '83 Corvettes were early-production C4 models, and all but one were crushed.

There are two types of the C3 rear suspension, early ('68-'80) and late ('81-'82).

www.corvetteforum.com or www.corvettefaq.com might be able to help.

Thanks guys ! I did find out that it is 77 or older because the spring is 2-1/4". It also has a tag that says fill with limited slip posi fluid which I found when I cleaned it up last night.
