49 Chevy 3100. What color would be close to original? PO polished mine, looks nice but I might like a change.

My original ‘51 it’s speckled rust chrome. New I’m sure it was nice and shiny chrome. I’ve fought off the urge to buff it out since the appearance speaks to its long life.

I have an original with over 80% of the paint left on it and it is not interior color. More of a non-metallic brown, maybe closer to the steering wheel color. (I also have an original steering wheel with 90% of the original paint on it to compare it to.)
My opinion is that it is not a match to the steering wheel color nor the interior color.
The reproduction ones look nice, but they have metal flake in them, which I believe is not correct.

Here is one of my extra buttons which I believe is pretty close to correct color. It's the left one in the 2nd pic
