Do you drill a hole near the tip of the exhaust and install the thing there with the wire hangin out in the flames? It says you don't have to install a bung for a spark plug, so I'm kinda confused.
Btw, Rocker, I love your rat truck. I have my own version of a rat truck...but it's a 64. Gonna take it to the salt flats this weekend (and all next week) for Speed Week. It fits in well with the other rat rods there.
One thing on your web site: I know you wrote that the pics are in order from bottom to top, but it was slightly confusing at first. I guess I'm easily confused. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 33 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 33 | Ray~ the "igniters" are just autolite spark plugs. and you don't need to weld the bungs in... they supply you with a nut that will thread onto the spark plug, all you have to do is drill a 9/16" hole in your exhaust tip and bolt the spark plug down from the inside of the tips... the trick is, they suggest you mount the plugs 18-24" away from the exhaust outlet... if you can find a way to tighten a nut 2 feet into a pipe, yea. so I have mine 8" away from the exhaust outlet... but I am currently building some custom exhaust tips that have triple 3" outlets on each muffler.. kinda like combining my current side pipes with lakepipes... | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 510 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 510 | Thanks, Rocker. Its washing the cyl down and you should change oil regul. If i could draw it out i could show you how the big guys are doing it now and cheap. Its only 15 bucks worth of parts at radio shack.But i not to good at this computer stuff.
The big guys are using propane or colemen fluid or gas under pressure.
Becareful as i saw a 12 year old girl get burned at a show one night. I found if you close the choke for a couple seconds there is plenty of fuel left over to ignite in the pipes.
