I bought a 350 crate motor. I am trying to put a new crome dip stick and tube in it. The tube does not want to slide in the hole even with 90w oil or grease. Is there a trick to this?

The tube is a light press fit. Place an open end wrench that hugs the tube just above the ferrule and give it a few taps with a hammer.

Instead of oiling it, I would put some kind of sealer around it when it gets tapped in. Even though they're a pressed fit, sometimes they like to come out.
