So I picked up a 1966 GMC 960 (6500?) And intend to use it as my shops service truck.327 in it runs like a top, I'm just waiting for various oil and filters to road test it. I noticed the ebrake doesn't work, so I got under it and found out it's a band style and the lining is worn down. I live in the middle of nowhere so I can't really send it out to be re banded, so I have to do it myself. Does anyone know a part number or shop that has a kit for this and would ship it?

A search for "brake band lining kit" turned up several suppliers of generic lining and rivets. I am sure that Brake and Equipment Warehouse here in Minnesota could fix yours, they seem to fix anything, but its a bit far from the frontier. Its possible they might ship the stuff to you.

What transmission do you have? That might help in determining what lining you need...

If you actually have a 6500, I would sure love to see a picture of it.

That trans was either a 420 or 465. 465's were used in the 'states starting in '68 or so, both are good, parts are different, post a px and can tell which?

Measure your drum diameter and width, I believe the SM-420's from the 50's had 8 x 2-1/2" Drums...is that what you have?

Have you searched for companies like this one in Canada? They can re-line it for you...
