good afternoon to all.
i know there is a thread on this but never got a definite answer. we drove for about an hour and half and my sons canopy will not go into gear when the truck is running, motor off it goes into all gears. clutch was making its noise prior but not major, throw out bearing i assume.
well long story short, unless im mistaken, time to change clutch. some guys say pull out motor for simplicity? why?
i did the clutch on my 38 canopy and 38 sedan, i dropped the drive shaft and took yoke apart, i removed tranny from cross members and pulled it out, took off clutch then flywheel. i had fly wheel resurfaced and got new clutch installed it and mated tranny back to motor and put shaft back on.

questions:
1. is this the same steps for the 1953?
2. the 53 i noticed doesnt have the board cut out, so i how do i remove tranny (3 speed on column)
3. any steps online?

thanks in advance!

1. pretty much the same steps
2. what is a "board cut out"?
3. see links below

clutch assembly removal/replacement
The link above refers to removing the transmission first: transmission removal

Do you have a Shop Manual?
The online manual is for 1948-1951/52, but for the clutch/transmission removal/replacement, the steps would be the same.

my apologies the cut out board is the piece i call right above the trans on the floor board that on my 38 i would unscrew and pull the tranny up and out.
