I bought a 61 235 Chevy engine to install in my 41 Super Deluxe and need to change the front engine mounting plate in order for the original mounts to work on the newer engine. Does anybody have one laying around that they'd like to sell? I would also like to get the two rocker shaft mounting studs that hold the valve cover down since I want to make the 235 look as close to the 216 as possible. Or, does anybody know of a place to purchase these other than RPM Motor Sports? They are sold out at present. Seems as though quite a few folks have the same idea that I do. That's scary!! Thanks, fellas!

Most people just drill the timing plate to fit the mounts. I think there's a tech tip somewhere with a template diagram to follow. The valve cover studs aren't engine-specific. A specialty bolt place like Fastenal or ARP should be able to provide 3/8" diameter studs the right length with a 16 TPI thread on one end and 24 threads per inch on the top. 3/8-24 acorn nuts and 3/8 SAE flat washers are available on Ebay to complete the installation.
Jerry.

Can't you just pull your studs and valve cover off the existing 216 and use those? I did that to a '60 235 with 4 cover screws; pulled the studs and cover off the '52 235 and used them on the new head. I would think it would be the same size stud?
