I have a 54 and the apron looks like mine, but on mine the license plate holder is in front of the parking/turnsignal light. What are the differences? I wonder if mine is truly a 54 apron.
I have always wondered why the license plate was there.

That little black 54 (primer?) covered in snow, hugging the pavement, on aluminum wheels-oh man DRIVE THE WHEELS OFF! Wannabe

Parts are also more expensive, there just aren't as many of them as the other years.
A fairly nice stock 55 went for $8500 on Ebay yesterday.

I see you have centerlines and it may not be possible to get just what you need. Try steel wheels from a buddy and figure what backspacing you need. With a 14" wheel you can get a 6" width with about 4 1/2" backspace and not quite as much on a 15".
