Before I got my truck, I though the numbers simply started at 3100 and went up from there.
Then I started researching for two reasons: I seen one for sale that claimed to be a 1100 and my truck is a 9783.
Searching resulted in many more numbers and it would appear that Canada got its own set of numbers.
Then I started searching for parts and got numbers like fc300 and many more. Searching for images with these numbers to see which trucks these are did not help.

I am very confused. Making it harder to find parts.

(Hope I remember to get the numbers off my truck. dang)

Canadian Chevrolet trucks have different model numbers that the same model USA Chevrolet trucks.

Canadian Chevrolet truck models start with a "1", and, GMC models start with a "9".

The other/later/following digits for Canadian GM truck model-sizes are thereafter the same.

Oh, cool! Thanks!

...but what about those weird codes Ebay uses? It uses things like FC100, FC253, FC350, FCS300, FP152, etc.
I don't know which one to use.
Hold on! I was just looking at OldGMCtrucks and found a chart for them. I appears mine is a FC354, so selecting FC350 would be the best choice.

I think the Canadian number system is easier to understand. American Chevy and GMC numbers are very different and more complicated.
