Seems like a 235......has no capt. bars,,,,,serial is 9-534847....... NO letter code...... head is xxxx848........

Casting is 3754844 on the flip side of the block is 0 K 21....which I translate as 1960 Novemebr 21st

Clues.....engine had a right hand drive bell housing used with, I beleive, a hydraulic clutch..... have seen those set up in a 60 era Chev van...... starter is solonoid model not a stomper....

Hoping to buy it but can't run on existing stand..... engine is cleaned and painted like lipstick on a pig!!!!!!!!!

Would appreciate comments/suggestions....etc.

PS......could this be a GMC engine .....or a Chev engine fitted in a GMC truck in Canada???????

GMC engine' SN starts with the displacement, stamped on machined pad aft of distributor, right side, I. e. 228xxxx, thus yours is not GMC engine.

isn't 3754844 an intake manifold casting number?
what's the block casting?
in Canada many GMC trucks had Chevy engines, and Canadian engine stamps do NOT follow USA patterns.
