So on the recently acquired 1956 Chevy Lcf there is a hood ornament that I don't think was original. Reminds me of a plymouth, but I can't locate a similar picture on the web.
What do you guys think?
Like I said. Just for fun. I think it looks good even if it doesn't belong.

Looks like the one I had on my 1954 4100. Totally factory stock.

Justhorsenround, surprised to hear that.
Have a picture?
It is semi-airplane looking but more fish like or maybe sails I thought.

Go to the Gallery and search 1954 Chevy 4100. I think we got a photo of the front in there.

Just looked and the photo is there but not close enough to get a good view. I no longer have the truck or any photos of it.

Hmmm, i will take some photos from the front and underneath.
"Wings" are way out and wide. Does fit well!
If I take it off and look at bottom it may have a part number?

I believe it to be a 1953 Packard hood ornament.

No way! I looked at so many pictures online including tons of those same pages of ornaments. My mind was stuck on ship(plymouth). Never thought about "clipper".
Well I think you are right! I would love to know what year it was installed. I have some pics from 2003 old owner gave to me.
Too cool. Now back to brakes! Lol
