I know that there is a point on top of the engine adjacent to the intake manifold close to the distributor where I can screw in the sensor unit. HOWEVER, the sensor unit (provided by Dakota Digital) is large and will not screw into the hole, because the intake manifold is in the way. I know I can TRY to find a fitting (perhaps a 1/8" NPT male X 1/8" NPT female 45 degree elbow) to angle the sensor away from he intake manifold. Is there another place on the engine (close to the oil filter perhaps) where I can mount the oil sensor unit? I was told that there was an alternate mounting point. I'm using Autometer gauges and the oil pressure sender unit won't fit. I used a 1/8" nipple (2" long I think) with a 45 deg elbow. Works perfect.
I learn something new every day, re popcorn's alternate location.
