I need to mount the oil sensor unit to my Chevy 350. I know that there is a point on top of the engine adjacent to the intake manifold close to the distributor where I can screw in the sensor unit. HOWEVER, the sensor unit (provided by Dakota Digital) is large and will not screw into the hole, because the intake manifold is in the way. I know I can TRY to find a fitting (perhaps a 1/8" NPT male X 1/8" NPT female 45 degree elbow) to angle the sensor away from he intake manifold. Is there another place on the engine (close to the oil filter perhaps) where I can mount the oil sensor unit? I was told that there was an alternate mounting point. Thanks!

Yes: looking from the front of the motor; right side in front of oil filter there should be a pipe threaded hole just below the head you can put the oil sending unit there. popcorn The Truth is Out There (I just replaced mine)

rm, I did what you already hinted at. I'm using Autometer gauges and the oil pressure sender unit won't fit. I used a 1/8" nipple (2" long I think) with a 45 deg elbow. Works perfect.

I learn something new every day, re popcorn's alternate location. Just have to keep the wire away from headers/exhaust.
