Morning all,
Reinstalled the rebuilt vacuum wiper motor and arms that were never connected since I have owned the truck. My dilemma is the correct way and material for the switch linkage to the motor. ( I do have the rubber grommets ) I did peruse the site and inter web to no avail!
So, if anyone has a picture of the linkage rod connected to the switch and wiper motor, could you please post it?
I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks
Jim

I gave up trying to make that Rube Goldberg affair and went with using a length of steel TIG filler rod and bent the ends so it could not fall out.
The original setup relies too much on nothing but imagination to stay in place. I think that the reproduction rubber is not the same as the original rubber.

Thanks, Carl!
That's probably the easiest way of conquering that little devil.
Take care,
Jim

Finally found a pic I took some time ago of my wiper switch connecting rod. Note a zip tie holding the rod to the switch. LOL. I bet if I break my back to look at it now, the zip tie is probably still there. Goes to show how often I use the wipers ohwell

Agreed Craig!
Had the truck almost 8 years and this will be the first time they ever operated for me. Just relied on RainX

Just don't hit any bumps, otherwise pure and simple imagination will cease to hold the tip of that rod in that weirdly engineered grommet (in my experience , anyway).
I do wish everyone the best of luck with their aftermarket grommet. Maybe I was mean to one too many people in my life, and all of my luck has been negated by Karma.
