It was a basket case sitting in a field and it was bad, but the motor serial number matched the VIN tag. The motor is almost done, but they need replacement shells for the crank main bearings. I understand they are babbit bearings but apparently these are what the babbit is poured into? When I checked the Filling Station website they need you to send in the old shells to be rebabbited. I have been looking locally for some replacement shells with no luck, so I thought I would try the forum. Any leads or help would be greatly appreciated! I understand the motor was only used in 1933 and 34 and not common. It has a block casting number of 836915 and it is a 206/7 Master. It looks like you need to find a better machinist. Once the rough-poured bearings are in place, you'll still need to line bore them to fit the crankshaft. Can the shop you're dealing with do that? All the poured main bearings I've ever worked with, like Model T and Model A Ford engines, have the Babbit metal poured directly into grooves in the block, using molds designed for that purpose.

This months issue has an article on a guy who restored a 1922 Gray roadster. He used a company called The Babbitt Shop in Fort Edwards, NY. You might find them on the internet.
