I am currently using modern clamps which are satisfactory but I am wondering what they were like originally. It appears there are wire, tower and split band type hose clamps. What did Chevy/GM use?

You can find them at McMaster -Carr in various sizes. A ‘twin ring hose clamp’ might also work for you. Be aware.....The constant tension clamp is a bugger to deal with without the special pliers.
