My radiator is shot on the 57 6100. I was looking at eBay for a new one. Anyone recommend one of the aluminum ones on there? Electric fan or clutch fan? Most importantly, is the radiator the same as a 3100 for the big trucks?

It'd guess they interchange (they do in earlier years). However they are not the same. The big trucks have much thicker cores than the little trucks.

I'd keep the original mechanical fan, they are reliable and work well.

Ok, yeah this thing has leaks in multiple places. I figured a 3 or 4 core aluminum off eBay be easiest thing. Is the original fan of the 261 ok on a 350? I know they can be a drag without a clutch.

Don't know what to say about fans after changing engines, you hadn't mentioned an engine swap.
I was assuming original engine, thus no reason to change fan.

Take some very careful measurements of the mounting holes and flanges. Order a 4 row radiator and a flex blade fan along with a fan shroud. 🛠

Do what Martin says above about taking careful measurements and ordering an aluminum one off eBay for ~$130-150 or so. If it were me, I would put on a 7 blade fan with clutch off a 350 or 454, that way the fan stalls out when it is not needed (cool enough engine).

I ordered an original style radiator for my 1958 6400. It had the mounting tabs for the shroud (one for a 3100 would not). Mine was WAY MORE expensive than an aluminum one, but I had heard mixed reviews on aluminum radiators, and if I get a hole in aluminum, I can't fix it with my torch and some solder!
