I've been looking at my headliner I bought for my 1950 suburban and I've made a few observations....
1. It is not even remotely cut for a suburban. The dome light is cut out on the opposite side of the cross brace.
2. The pieces for directly above the front seats completely forget about a cross brace!!!! Its cut like the cross brace isn't even there. How the heck do you make that work?
3. The piece with the hole for the dome light (on the wrong side) has wings cut to go over the doors. This means you would have to cut off your dome light bracket and weld it to the other side of the headliner bow to make the piece work.
Its like this headliner is for a completely different car. I have no idea how anyone could get it so wrong.
Has anyone experienced this? Or did I just get a defective one?

You can see in the pic that there is a piece missing between the front panel and the dome light piece when compared to the headliner bows. Also you can see that the dome light piece has wings to go around the door.... the dome light is behind the door making it necessary to change dome light location in order to use the panel.

I fit my first section tonight. Front of cab piece fits, then a void between first and second brace.....nothing. the piece with the hole pre cut for dome light is useless. Wont even reach the third brace. I would be better off having two extra large square pieces to cut to shape than the unusable pieces they sent.

Go buy some black Formica from Home Depot, trace the pattern, make alterations and slip into place with a little heat. Worked great for my ‘51 3100 and might allow you to adjust as you need.
