What year did GM/Chevy start having an accessory position on the ignition switch? I changed my lock cylinder today on my 1967 and there is no plastic indicator on the dash, above the ignition like my 1970 has, nor will the key turn to the accessory position.......

The parts catalog shows the emblem from 69-72. It shows the same ign. switch from 67-72. The 67 had a different mounting spacer & bezel then the rest.

The truck is a new acquisition...which quite frankly I didn't need, but couldn't resist when I saw it.....You know how that is......anyhow the seller lost the key and punched out the cylinder to use a screwdriver to start it....The first thing I did was order a lock set for the ignition cylinder & doors....I had to remove the complete switch in order to do the required surgery to get the broken cylinder out...and the switch came all apart in my hands as I unhooked the two ears that hold it together.....I got everything together and reinstalled it.....that's when I noticed the key would not turn to the accessory position....... Now this is the interesting part....That plastic indicator above the ignition has 2 studs that attach it to the dash....thus the dash is drilled out to accommodate the plastic indicator......as is on my 1970.....This 1967 dash is not drilled out for the plastic indicator.....I have a friend who is the original owner of a 1967 C60 and his truck does not have an accessory position on his ignition switch.....My 67 is radio & cig lighter delete, so not sure there would be any accessories to function....This is an awful lot over nothing, but for me, it makes for fun times....the simplicity of it all......As a side bar, my friend has a 2015 Ford Escape at the dealer with about 10 fault codes that they cannot clear....Who ever invented the 'check engine light'... truly a master.....When all else fails there are always stovebolts !!!
