Pulled No. 2, No. 8, No. 3 and No. 7 plugs to check condition. Nice dry brown haze with no electrode burn back. Checked gap all 4 plugs .045" factory setting?

Question, is this an acceptable gap for a 350 cid sbc? .035" comes to mind. Seems a bit on wide side. HEI ignition.

.035 was the conventional setting for many years, that is until HEI came along and the gap was increased. 🛠

.045 - .060 gap for HEI, depending on application AND plug, I would say .045 is a good place to start. I can't remember if it was my 1974 1/2 ton 350 or my 1976 3/4 ton 350 that was stock .060 gap
