I'm searching for a kit to raise the rear end of my 1955 second series pickup. It has 2" leaf springs and I guess? they are the original springs. Most of the kits I find offered by Tuff Country and others are for a 2.5 inch spring and I'm not sure that will work. I have lowered the front end on the truck and I'm looking for a better stance. I'm not going to pay the cost of an air suspension and I don't have the room and space. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Any spring shop worth it's salt can either re-arch your springs or build you a set with increased height. Probably cheaper than buying a kit that's not quite right and adapting it.
Or you can fab up a set of blocks to go between your springs and axle.

Remember this changes your pinion angle, and may require a tapered shim.

Try your local parts store and just look for extensions. Or these.

Thesuspensionking.com has 2” add a leafs for $37 a side. They have to be cut to length though, but you can put them anywhere in your spring pack.

Are you trying to raise it 1/2"? You can easily make or purchase a simple 1/2" spacer block to do that. You may need a longer center leaf spring bolt to keep the spacer in place.

Also please remember raising the back end alters the caster angle. It reduces it and if you go far enough you get a negative caster angle. Doing this will make your truck steer more easily but will make it wander around with much less ability to control it. I've had friends raise the rear of their AD truck, do nothing to the front and make it flat scary to drive. You must end up with the right amount of caster designed into the front axle when you are finished. Good luck.

If the axle sits on TOP of the spring ( most do ) then any kind of block will LOWER the back. If you need a radical rear end lift mount the axle on underside of the spring. Personally don't like the "potato digger" look but many do.

I have some extra leaves you can have but they are heavy. Shipping would be expensive. I can't imagine why anyone would raise the rear & lower the front but I'm an old man & old school.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

The OP needs to specify whether he has a 1/2 ton, or a 3/4 ton. One has springs under the axle, while the other has the springs over the axle.

Tim,
That's a beautiful truck but I like this being closer to level stance better.
