For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2010 Posts: 43 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2010 Posts: 43 | I ended up getting the factory style V8 front motor mounts for the 57 farm truck. I was piddling around with it yesterday and noticed the front motor bracket conflicts with the harmonic balancer. The harmonic balancer I have measures 8" diameter that came on my 350. What size should I be looking for? Thanks | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 | Both of my TF 350 V8's have ~7" Balancer... Maybe the aftermarket bracket is a little bigger? Maybe itβs closer than I think?? π | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 | The repro setup is exactly like the original, I have them both... Looking at my balancer's it looks like the drivers side would have enough room for your 8" balancer, but the passenger side would be close. Iβll prob order a $50 6.75β off summit this morning so I can hopefully work on it this weekend. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | If you are using the 2 piece set with the bird legs, you can cut a little chunk out of the brackets. If you are using the horseshoe bracket I'm not sure of. George

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. I ordered a 6.75β balancer. May still need to trim but maybe not near as much. | | |
