Why is it this manual doesn't include any factory details on the 58 or 59 years?

Were there supplemental manuals required to cover these years?

the FAM around now is a reproduction of the assembly sheets GM issued to the line in 1955, there were updates ["running changes"] but none of those have been found/repro'd - notice the dates on various pages, some from before 55, none after .... the "manual" is labeled 55-59 by the modern re-producer, there is nothing specific to the later TF series

You are most likely referring to late-years Task Force owners?

There is a similar, but opposite, situation for 1947-1953 Chevrolet Advance-Design Series owners. The "47-55st FAM? is actually 1954/55st.

"Task Force" = all the 55.2 thru 59 models .... very little difference in the years 55.2-57 and the 58-9 .... only the front fenders, hood, grill, and the late frame is a couple inches longer in front, otherwise cab and bed, interior and mechanics all the same as shown in the "55-59" FAM

What the manual is missing for 58-59 can be answered by Bill and other members. Not to worry. As said, many systems/parts/part numbers are the same 55.2-59. Bill is the Guru on TF. Absolutely.........and he knows apples from oranges. (Hi Bill, how you doin? Lost your info on my last FBI raid)

Bill, I have found nothing regarding the 58-59 fleetside bed design within the FAM.

The 47-54 FAM doesn't have squat on the bed (either pickup or larger).
But, Hey! doesn't everyone know how to assemble a bed?

OK. having had both long and short fleet beds I should've known to add those to the list .... but there's really nothing about the fleet beds that should need any explanation other than the bed wood,, and this page shows the number and size of boards required .... also there's dimensional info in the 58 resto pak

as said, the FAM was a find of a pile of loose sheets by a truck nut in about the 70's [Seth Doulton, the Golden State PU parts founder, note the copyright], no other line instruction sheets have surfaced and you might not be aware there was a major fire at a GM plant where most archived info was kept and so prolly what we have now for any assembly info of any year is all there will ever be
