Seems like it could be the way to go....won't have to cut up a frame and I can put it back to original if I want....

Can someone edumacate me? Sorry for all these questions..I just want to be happy with my decision in the end and wish I did something else, you know...

Use the search feature, you'll find a load of stuff on IFS. Don't rule out the old straight axle either. Have fun

I think the MII is the way to go,however it would be quite a job to put your truck back to original. On my 55 2nd series I had to cut out the front crossmember, and box the frame.I had to use different motor mounts because the originals were mounted on the front crossmember. It is still a lotr easier than cutting the frame and sub framing. The one I used was from TCI.Mainly read and follow the instructions.

darn...I think the bad thing about woman being into cars...or at least for me..I can't seem to make up my mind.

I have come to realize that I have no idea how my truck would drive 'stock' so I shouldn't cut myself short and change it when I very well could have liked it... So I am going to get up with my AACA buddies to see if they can hook me up with a stock Task Force truck to go for a ride. I owe it to my truck and myself to see what I have before I start changing it.

I know..I know...I can't make up my mind....sue me. wink grin

I think you're being very smart.
wink
You just may like it as is and save yourself a lot of work and time ... or you may hate it and then you'll know for sure that the extra work and time is worth it.

I bought my truck with the Musatng II IFS already in it, so I can't compare, but I sure like it as it is. It also has 11" front disc brakes (drums in the rear) and a double-bay master cylinder, so it stops just fine.

I thought I was gonna want power steering, but after driving it with manual steering, I've decided it isn't necessary at all.

Have fun!
