Does anyone know the correct name/terminology for that circular plate that fits between the wheel & lug nuts on an 80ies vintage 1 ton truck? - Sent them with wheels to be sandblasted & powder coated and now they are lost......Thanks

They are still used by GM, at least on my 2000 K3500 dual wheel.

2 many trucks.....Thank you...yup these are the ones.....and they were going to be used on my 70 C 30 with the later model wheels in the front, even though the wheels are hub centric, just an added measure of security.....Gotta laugh....in today's world a 2010 is now considered an old vehicle.... Pretty soon we'll be seeing the 'newer square bodies' .....anyhow thanks for sending the link.......

It helps distribute the clamping force of the lug nut more evenly about the wheel, and or reinforces the center of the wheel.

Look in this catalog.
https://www.accuridecorp.com/files/2012/10/Accuride-Wheels-Product-Catalog-Summer-2011.pdf
Page 27 shows and talks a little about clamp plates and they're required with some wheels.
See that GM part number 472536 is for a more modern clamp plate that uses 90 degree bevel nuts, and I assume 9/16" studs.

Original clamp plates from the AD 1 tons use flat faced 1/2" nuts.

Grigg to the rescue....Not sure I ever saw a clamp plate that uses a flat faced nut....every one had a bevel.....So are both these styles available aftermarket?

I don’t know of any aftermarket replacement for the original ones with flat lug nuts, used at least through 53 but I haven’t looked in parts book to know full year range.

Dexter trailer axles may offer clamp plates for 5/8 studs. We just got a trailer and wheel torque specs in the manual are different for different nut types and clamp plates are shown as an option, not what we have though.
