I've heard it could be s timing issue, but it sounds like radiator area. It's difficult to identify when it only does it when driving. I've wondered about a cracked pressure plate. Any suggestions to the first things to check? Thanks-

It sounds like you're getting a preignition/detonation situation going on, which can be very destructive to engine parts, particularly pistons.
