I have a 454 big block with a blower that needs a home and would like use but am not sure the best route for the front suspension. I have a 69 camaro subframe or is it possible to use the original frame? Do a search in the forums and you will find this topic has been discussed in detail. I put a 68 Camaro rear steer clip under my 39 and upgraded to disc brakes with dropped spindles which lowered the truck 7 inches up front. As you mentioned there are plenty of routes you can take, Camaro,mustang 2,stock axle, etc it all comes down to your tastes, skills, and what effects me most, budget. I havent decided which way to go but it has givin me some great ideas to think about. I did decide to start pulling the body off the frame so i can do this truck right. I just got a didgital camera so i can record the buildup and ill try to post some pictures soon. Think through how you want to use the truck first. I think the gasser look would be fun, but I wouldn't do that on a truck I wanted to drive everyday.
The Camaro clip might be a little wide, so do some measuring first.

Welcome. Your truck is your business, though folks around here are always willing to let you know what they think (isn't that right Cletis!). I agree with Dale that the front clip upgrade will really help you handle the power's effects. Keeping a stock look with some new engineering is certainly possible.
