Can anyone help identify this combination spotlight / mirror? I've never seen one like it before. It has no markings other than the GE on the bulb. Thanks.

I've seen those on cars of the 60's vintage. I think I've seen them on policy cars too.

It's for sale locally on CL. I think I'm going to buy it. It would add some bling to my 59 when I get around to building it. And I won't have to drill through the A pillar.

The Police Car version did not have the mirror on the back side. They had a red spot bulb so they could turn them and use the red when needed.

All of the auto spotlights I've seen had the controls inside the vehicle for aiming the light...I'm with Martin's first guess, it's off of a boat. If that was fender mounted how would you safely reach out to aim it?
That looks just like it. The guy said it came off a Mercury but he had seen them on other cars. It's mine now so I'll figure out something to put it on. Thanks for the replies.

33 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.
