I 1952 6400 with Huck brakes and Hydrovac unit. Whoever had it first took out all the brake plumbing. I know how to make brake lines, but does anyone have a diagram of how to plumb it all with the hydrovac in it? Also, how to test the hydrovac would be helpful. Once I get the brakes going I can drive it around instead of towing it to move it.
I was crawling around underneath my 55 2 ton yesterday tracing out my hydro vac braking system and I will take some photos of how min is currently connected and post them for you.
There is 2 ends to the Vacuum tubing system one end is directed to the Hydrovac and the other is directed to the 2 speed rear diff components.
Snow has begun to fall again !! But I will get them photos today and post them for you.
I have attached some photos of how my HydroVac is connected. I will attach 2 replies with picture attachments. There are some unknowns as you will see.
Yellow is the output to the wheel cylinder as you will see it is just one outlet and continually tee's off to the wheels. You will see the two vacuum tubes up on the firewall and feeding down to the HydroVac all color coded. The one thing I don't know is about the connection that is plugged on the vacuum tube marked red. Someone else might know about this and hopefully pipe up !
The other end of those (Red & Green) tubes (Drivers side) on the firewall lead down to supply the Vacuum actuated 2 speed rear. so that tubing which can be ignored and capped if you dont have a vacuum actuated 2 speed rear.
I also have not yet rebuilt or used the brakes on this truck, that is next on my list. Hopefully we can get this figured out.
