Well now I went and did it. I've started my second 'bolt project. Most here will hate me but I am putting a '51 bolt onto a 1997 S-10 chassis, I bought a wreck for $500 complete with 97,000 mile. The wheel base is within .5" I plan to turn my 14 yr old kid loose with it when he is 16 so I need something reliable with good gas mileage. Started tearing the S-10 down to chassis last night...sold the salvageable front clip for $100 so now I have $ for floor-dry and de-greaser.

Nope-won't call you that! WILL, however ask you to post your progress...there's been a lot of discussion/interest in this topic here. Pix would be good too! Is this a 2WD S-truck? If so, you might want to swap out the original rearend for something a tad wider, cuz they're too skinny for an AD. Try a '70's Camaro or maybe a 4WD S-truck (3" wider than 2WD). Just a thought on the S10 thing. I was recently at a car show here in saskatoon and a guy had a custom extended cab '46 chevy half ton on a S10 chassis. I asked him about this due to the amount of negative feedback I'd seen on this board about S10 frames. Anyhow, he said ALL the body mounts except for 2 lined up with his 46. He didn't elaborate, but I'm guessing the extended cab had something to do with that. By the way, he cut up 6 cabs to make this extended cab, nearly made me cry. Beautiful truck though. Somethin' to think about.
