Will someone recommend a good donor vehicle for behind the rear axle poly fuel tank for my 1956 3600 truck? Im trying to keep costs down so I prefer finding one at a local salvage yard. I already have a side mount for the spare. Thanks

For a while I used a modern Chev pickup tank that mounted inboard of the frame, (some pickups have two of these one on each side) worked great as long as you can rig up a filler neck. Not what you asked for but worked great for me.

I think Mike B put an S10/Blazer tank in his TF. It runs along the frame rail, not behind the rear axle. I couldn't find the thread but you can search for it or contact him.

We use the 21 gallon Blazer tank because it's plenty narrow enough to fit between just about any frame rails and has a left side filler tube. Mustang fits good but the filler position sucks. Pics of a Blazer tank in an AD with a motorcycle pop up gas cap which is nearly invisible if painted body color.

I used a factory 55-59 Suburban/Panel fuel tank that mounts between the right frame rail and the driveshaft and plumbed the filler neck back to the right rear fender behind the tire.
