Hi Guys & Gals

I am looking to install an updated master cylinder/booster on the frame rail of my 55 2 ton 6100, I will be running 4 wheel drums out of the gates with residual valves to the front brakes.

I have done some reading on the forums regarding the disk brake swaps so there are some of you out there who have already accomplished this master/booster install upgrade.

What I am in search of are part #'s of master/booster combos that have already been used by you all ! Yes even if you are running front discs !

Any input would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you

Hy Noonan, welcome, just a reminder there are two different 55s, the 55"A" or first series and the 55"B" or second series. If you are talking about upgrading to a dual master cylinder and power booster and you purchase a master cylinder designed for drum brakes there will be no need for additional residual pressure valves. As a matter of fact I was a bit surprised that you were only going to install residual pressure valves to the front brakes. If you anticipate installing disc brakes on the front axle in the future you could purchase a master cylinder designed for disc brakes and install 10 p.s.i. residual pressure in each brake circuit, when you eventually install the disc brakes you can just swap out the 10 p.s.i. residual pressure valve for a 2 p.s.i. residual pressure valve in the front brake circuit, hope that helps.

Thanks, 3b . It is a second series 55. If I can find a all drum master that will work that's cool too ! If I can find one that is set for rear drums and front discs I'll make it work.

What I was hoping was to get some insight on part #s of booster/masters that others have already had success installing
