Can anyone give me some info on my truck? The serial number is: FC1012XXXX | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | FC1012XXXX http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/page0010.htmlF = 1947-1950 C = conventional/standard cab truck 10 = 1/2 ton 1 = 116" inch (1/2 ton) wheel base 2XXXX = sequence number if you know the XXXX, then you can determine the year | | | | | Joined: Feb 2018 Posts: 395 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2018 Posts: 395 | Cool thanks. Title? Frame? Not much info in the number like there is now-a-days.

I do see it's been decoded.
BTW: The data plates used during the era show: Pontiac, MI plant

I don't see anything on the frame, but it's difficult to see at the moment. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 Sir Searchalot | | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 | Is that a fairly large plate with black background that says GMC Truck Coach Division, Pontiac MI? Nice to have that still there. If frame is stamped, looks like it's on the side of the frame rail as opposed to later years being on the top of the rail. Tim's info also says right side, passenger side, as opposed to later years on driver side.
