I am getting a 292 rebuilt for use in my '52 Chevy 3600. My question is if anybody has mounted one of these in an AD pickup? I need help finding an engine mount I can weld on for the offset passenger side bracket on the 292. Any help much appreciated. Also will I have to modify the rear mount being that the 292 is taller than the 216? Thank you.

292 engine motor mounts for 47-54 1/2 Chevrolet truck.

Call Tom Langdon to be sure this will work for you.

What transmission do you plan to use?

I will add, don't be put off by the $150.00 price. They are very well made and they fit,at least in a test fit for a future project.

Thank you for the link. As far as the transmission I'm torn between a saginaw/muncie 3 spd to keep the column shifter or a muncie 4 spd and swapping to a floor shifter. I would really like to keep the 3 spd on the tree but I don't know what gear ratios to look for.

use a 55 chevy truck v8 bellhousing and a 54-55.1 bellhousing crossmember i am working on number 4 installation with a later model 250 or 292 in a 47-54 chevy truck i also sell the motor mounts and the adapter bracket to use the stock gas pedal linkage, the late 6 work well in the cars too.

John hasn't been on the site for a few years. You can get the email address he has/had in his profile. Good luck!

I have a set for my 53 1/2 ton. They have a 1/4" plate that brings them straight a cross from each other. They have a biscuit mount and a Cee channel that fits over the frame. I posted some pictures here a year or so ago. I can try to find them. I think ccp made them.

My mounts were made by Chassis Engineering. Invoice #44948 on 12/6/16. I think they were about $60.00
I posted pictures here: The engine shop, 292 motor mounts, 23/12/17, 02:34 pm, #1247895

If you want to keep the 3 speed/column shift, look into installing the 1970's Saginaw 3 speed with the synchronized 1st. gear. That makes 1st. a traffic gear instead of having to come to a full stop, and the earlier column shift linkage can be tweaked to work with the later model transmission. You might need to alter the driveshaft length, as I believe the Saginaw is a bit longer that the Muncie. The Saginaw is a bolt-in swap for the Muncie, as far as bellhousing bolt pattern and clutch splines are concerned.
