Hello again,

Does anyone know the factory mounting location for the negative battery strap (cable) for this year and model (VB) truck? Currently the strap is grounded to the top of the transmission housing, but don't know if this is correct... Thank you.

The ground cable is attached to one of the top transmission cover bolts on a 1941 Chevy. Not sure about your year though but they are very similar in design.

Thank you, I will have a look again... Right now I have the negative braided strap done this way.

Why does this question get asked about twice a month? The ground doesn't care where it goes, as long as it gets attached somewhere in the starter/bellhousing area. Unless you're trying to build a concours-show winner, it's much ado about nothing.

Jerry, that’s exactly what he is doing. You can tell from reading his posts that he is being very meticulous about his work.

The ground strap is attached to the rear bolt on the right side of the transmission, see attached image.

Not trying to be perfect, yet don't want to be blatantly wrong either... I have this done right (negative battery cable) for what I can see. Yet, we're addressing the negative battery cable and not the additional ground strap from the engine/transmission to frame. Thank you.
