So I have a friend who is an executive of a local car club and when he heard that my truck was going to get here on Wed he begged me to bring it to the show. Spent every spare minute tinkering and I even paid a guy to detail it because I just didn't have time.

Well it was super fun and all the guys there were great. I got a couple trophies too!! First was from the carshow. the old Spartan got "Best Beater". Kind of disheartening but it was all in good fun I think. What was really amazing though was that a group of local guys who have a classic hot rod/rat rod group make a couple trophies to give away and I got one. It was super cool. Needless to say I had a ton of fun and I will be entering in more car shows, not to win anything but to rub shoulders with some fellow wrenchers and classic car guru's. All the old boys gathered around my truck and we talked about it and we all learned a thing or 2. I had people crawling all over it for a while and they all noticed some cool things.

Anyway here is a pic or 2. Check out this trophy- its really neat.

Love that truck! Get those cab lights working, they give you a lot of prestige on the road!
What a hoot to go to a car show already!

Someone put in more time on the trophy than I have in my whole truck!, just kidding. Way to go. I might make a couple of local shows this summer, I've got it pretty road-worthy but now need to start on sheet metal.

Car shows are really fun when you get to spend hours talking to other people about your truck! I really hate it when they want to talk about their truck though.... ;-)

Awesome win for you Spartan. You'll need that truck to haul that trophy around.

That's a pretty big truck to haul groceries. You packin' it in for the apocalypse or sumpthin'??
Congrats! The first of many fun times. My first show there were only two in the class and I got second place. But nobody really wins because it's like "oh, you got first place out of two trucks? big deal." haha
