I am getting ready to convert my '54 Chevy 6100 to 12 volts. Just waiting on the package from Vintage Auto Garage to arrive. In the meantime, I'm getting all my bulbs together.

For the headlights, all I can find is that it's a sealed beam. What number is it so I can find a 12 volt replacement. I would like to go either LED or HID versus incandescent, but not sure what the installation differences are. Does anyone have a guide or site that I can go to that can tell me what a headlight number might be and how to wire in up?

The original 12 volt sealed beam number is 6012.

Any Auto Parts Store. They are not rare or special order.

The 6012 is 50/40 watts High/low beam.
The 6014 is 60/50 watts high/low beam. H6024

The 6012 is difficult to find any more. The 6014 was used as a replacement for the 6012 over the years and can still be found. Mostly on eBay and Amazon.
6014

The H6024 is the Halogen replacement for the 6014 and is rated at 65/35 watts.

If your headlight wiring/connections/switches are in good condition, you should have no problem using any of these with stock wiring.

Be careful when buying the H6024. some bulbs are rated at a higher wattage than the H6024 standard.

Halogen bulbs might get pretty hot as well. Check out your local wrecking yard for usable bulbs.

Another quality post.
